About Company

Abtin Teb Fanavar Knowledge-Based Company was established in 2017 in Pardis Technology Park, with the goal of producing tissue substitutes and 3D printers, supported by the National Elites Foundation. From the very beginning, the objective in designing the first generation of the device was to create a multi-purpose platform that could function both as a bioprinter and possess the capability to print a wide range of advanced materials. These capabilities included printing hydrogels, polymers in both solution and molten forms, ceramic slurries, and also bio-inks containing live cells.

At the start of its activities, inspired by a 3D printer from a British company and relying on the founders' expertise in biomedical engineering, a much more powerful device tailored to these broad objectives was designed and built. The first version of this device, named Abtin 1, was ready in 2018. Given the knowledge-based nature of the product and its intended medical applications, it was decided to deploy the device within several research projects at Tehran and Isfahan Universities of Medical Sciences for practical optimization, refinement, and enhancement in subsequent versions. A year was dedicated to this purpose, leading to significant changes in the design and manufacturing agenda for the new device. Subsequently, the first commercial version of this 3D printer, titled Abtin 2, was introduced to the market.

Research for upgrading the product continued steadily, and a more advanced model titled Abtin 3 (Modular 3D Bioprinter) entered the market in 2020, focusing on medical applications and unique features. The use of a localized electronic board and a new body design were among the main changes in this version.

Following the introduction of the Abtin 3, the process of optimization and product development has not stopped and has continued persistently to this day. Annual improvements and optimizations have been made on various parts of the device, including the Hot End module for material temperature control, the Extruder for increased precision and a broader range of usable materials, and even the structure and material of the main body to enhance stability, accuracy, and user-friendliness. This commitment to continuous development has positioned Abtin's devices among the most efficient and advanced domestic 3D bioprinters.
